WITH Ray Retter away at the veterans? national time trial championship in Yorkshire, Steve Sage was the only North Devon Wheeler in local time trial action last weekend.
After his second place the previous weekend Steve was hoping to improve on that placing on Sunday.
In the field of 32 riders for St Budeaux CC time trial he was a little disappointed that he could only manage third place. He finished the 15.6-mile course in a time of 38:17, 43 seconds behind winner Julius Jennings (CS Dynamo) and just three seconds behind the promoting club?s Ross Powlesland, who was in second place.
This weekend Steve has two races lined up, a ten-mile event at Buckfastleigh on Saturday evening, and on Sunday morning he returns to the scene of his second place two weeks previously for a 25-mile time trial organised by St Austell Wheelers.
