NORTH Tawton Rugby Club will be rocking to the sound of four live bands next month. The evening of live music is being hosted by local band Third Rock who will be joined by blues/rock band Brick Outhouse, Somebody?s Mind (original atmospheric rock) and Gadfly (acoustic folk), Third Rock vocalist Iain Crawford said the band play high tempo cover versions of classic rock songs by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and the Buzzcocks. Third Rock consists of: Jeremy Mckay, guitar/vocals; Billy Grant, guitar; Iain Crawford, vocals; Simon Fear, bass and Andy Side, drums. The five-piece band have been playing together for around ten months and have already performed at a number of local pubs. The group was formed after Iain, Jeremy and Simon discussed putting a band together. Iain got hold of Billy, with whom he had played in a band 12 years earlier, and Andy responded to an advertisement for a drummer. Iain said the line-up of bands for the gig promised to be a fantastic occasion for fans of live music ?with a good mix of original material and well-known guitar riffs?. The concert takes place at the rugby club on Saturday, April 16, with the first band expected on stage at around 8pm. Tickets available on the door. Licensed bar until late.
