Tavistock v Plymstock
TAVISTOCK lost the toss and were put in to bat at Deans Cross in their clash against the league?s second-from-bottom Plymstock.
Andy Kaitiff (27) and Pete Jones (39) got them off to a good start before Kaitiff was out caught off the bowling of veteran Stuart Brace, who took three for 46 in the match.
Jones followed two runs later, bringing Arnie Searle and captain Dave Manning (20) together for a partnership of 49. Searle was victim number two for Brace.
Steve Luffman and John McGahey made another 36, but Tavistock then wobbled to 181-7. Steve Miles then put bat to ball for 42 valuable runs in 24 balls, including two fours and three sixes.
Tavistock finally reached 226 for 9 in their 50 overs.
Plymstock set about the run race hitting fours and sixes whenever they could and although there was some tight bowling from Pete Jones almost reached the target for the loss of five wickets for 221 in their 50 overs.
Gaining a winning draw with 14 points, Tavistock still remain top of the A division, one point ahead of Braunton.
