WITH Tavistock District Guides and Brownies gearing up for their annual Christmas Post scheme, now is the time to buy your special blue stamps and get posting.

Cards can be sent to addresses in Tavistock and Whitchurch only. They are posted in the Guides' special blue boxes to be sorted and delivered by the girls. The post must be affixed with the Guides' 15p blue stamps —these can be bought from local shops and from the girls.

Stamps and post-boxes are now available at all Guide meeting places and at the following stores: Lake Pharmacy, West Street; Superdrug, Duke Street; Tavistock Laundrette near the Pannier Market; Crelake Stores, Whitchurch Road, and Edwin Clark Opticians of Plymouth Road. There is also a blue postbox at Spar in Fore Street.

The last post will be at 5pm, on Friday, December 14, so the Guides can deliver cards over the weekend of December 15-16.

Guiding in the Tavistock area continues to be popular, with more than 150 girls and leaders taking part in this project, — the proceeds are usually divided between next year's activities for the Guides and charitable causes.
