A POPULAR Tavistock business will be packing away its sewing machines for the last time this month, after 30 years of dedicated service. Owner Barbara Porter and her right-hand woman Sandra Bailey have decided to retire from well-known alterations shop Sew ?n? So. The business has been situated on West Street since 2002 when the couple moved from 14 Duke Street after more than 20 years. The pair have enjoyed their time at the shop but decided the time has come for them to enjoy their retirement. Barbara said: ?I would like to say thank you to all the customers for their support ? we will miss you, we really did have a good laugh up there. ?I?m now going to play golf, decorate my house and garden, and see my husband,? joked Barbara. Sandra is off on a cruise for 17 days all around the Mediterranean. The shop?s door will close on Saturday, September 22.
