ST RUMON'S CE Infants School is celebrating achieving healthy school status. The Devon Healthy Schools Award is part of the National Healthy Schools programme, which supports links between health, behaviour and achievement. It aims to create healthy and happy children and young people, who do better in learning and in life. To achieve the status the school was successful in completing 62 criteria, including a focus on healthy eating, physical activity, safety, improving the environment and safer travel to school. The school is particularly proud of its high quality of work in the social and emotional aspects of learning. The Healthy School sign will be on display and the status will last for three years, with the school receiving a 'health check' every year. Picture by James Bird
