A CHRISTMAS ball recently raised a great deal for armed forces charity Help for Heroes.

The Meldon Christmas Charity Ball was held at the village hall on Saturday December 4, and the organisers were thrilled to present a cheque for £1,700 to Lt Col Tony Clark from Okehampton Camp.

The organisers expressed thanks to everybody who helped organise the successful night, and also said they were very pleased at the support and generosity of those who attended.
