ENCOURAGING creativity in the countryside is the aim of a new project set up in West Devon.
Workshops under the Sky offers a new way to study the environment ? working from a yurt, a nomadic tent, groups can create artworks under the guidance of local artist, potter and naturalist Jennie Hale.
Budding artists will be able to recreate the environment through a range of mediums: mask-making, drawing, painting, puppet-making and collage.
Groups will also be able to choose extra-complementary activities such as painting word pictures wih local journalist and amateur historian Nikki Chaplin, tracking animals in their natural habitats or studying butterflies.
The project begins with two workshops, ?spring flowers and birds? on April 24 and 25 and ?butterfly summer? on June 5 and 6.
Jennie Hale will be joined by wildlife artists and authors David Measures and John Walters for the second event.
