MAY I, through your Letters page, express my thanks to our local PDSA at Stonehouse?
Due to a change of circumstances I find myself on housing benefit, which pays most of my rent and now enables me to get free treatment for my two dogs.
Last week I joined the queue outside the PDSA, which snaked out of the door and up the road. Inside it was like something from the Third World. I nearly left at that stage but a sick dog made me stay.
Within minutes of getting in the waiting room I realised that all the people there with all manner of body piercing, pink hair etc, were all there for one reason — for the love of their pets.
It was a humbling experience. We were treated with kindness and expertise. I am so grateful to the powers that be for the empathy showed.
