REGARDING the recent letter on possible use of the Granite Way by horse riders;

Recently the Camel Trail has opened itself to horse riders on the understanding that a strict code is followed and riders ensure their horses are suitable and familiar with cyclists, walkers etc. and groups ? ie trekking, do not use it.

It would be wonderful if we could use this way as many of us already have to cope with cyclists, motorcycles, HGVs and white vans and it would make life a lot safer and a little less hair-raising.

However, cyclists when approaching a horse could be courteous enough to say so rather than whizzing by at great speed.
