The smash-hit phenomenon that is The Vagina Monologues hits the road again, fresh from its sell-out spring tour and West End Run. The show comes to the Theatre Royal Plymouth on Sunday December 3 and Monday December 4. The ultimate girl's night out. Sex has never been funnier or more poignant than in this collection of highly original stories, gathered by the show's dynamic creator, New Yorker Eve Ensler. Ensler asked more than 200 women of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and walks of life to share their most intimate secrets in 'vagina interviews' on such normally taboo topics as birth, sex, orgasms and relationships with truly revelatory results. It has also proved to be compulsive viewing for men too, with celebrity male fans such as Jonathan Ross, Ben Elton, David Baddiel and Sting — as The Sunday Times said 'See it, even if you haven't got one' (John Peter). Bringing this hilariously witty and moving collection of tales are Jan Shepherd, stand up up comic and singer/songwriter Abi Roberts and Laura Harvey . Every performance of The Vagina Monologues will donate a portion of ticket sales to the V-day fund, an organisation that provides charitable aid to women and girls who have been victims of abuse and violence.
