AN urgent request for second hand building timber for this year's Sticklepath Fireshow has been issued by the event's organisers.
With the economic downturn and fewer building projects under way, wood that can be used to construct the stage for the fireshow is proving hard to come by.
Anyone who has any second hand building timber or pallets that are not broken is asked to contact Bev Hilton, fireshow wood collector, on 01837 840257 to discuss what they can offer and to arrange delivery or collection.
Organisers say they do not need scrap wood for burning and cannot use doors or windows with glass in them, garden waste, nor any kind of laminated kitchen units made from chip-board.
They say they need second hand building timber that can be used to build with. Deliveries cannot be accepted without prior arrangement, so no fly tipping is allowed on site under any circumstances.
Work is due to start on building the stage on Monday October 3 so there is a need for the wood supplies to arrive as soon as possible.
