YOUR lead article (Times, January 22) urges people to get involved in the debate about where new houses should be built. Here, in the parish of Buckland Monachorum (Buckland, Yelverton, Crapstone, Milton Combe and Clearbrook) the best way for people to do this is through the neighbourhood plan which is being drawn up by a team with representatives from each of the villages. While the 'quota' for homes within the parish over the next 15 years is modest, it's important that the right type of homes are build in the right places. Sites that have been identified so far as having 'development potential' are shown on our Facebook page (Buckland Parish Neighbourhood Plan) and a 'housing drop-in' day will take place on Saturday, March 28 at Yelverton Church Hall (10am to 3pm) where anyone interested in finding out more about housing options (including self build) or letting the planning team have their input into where housing should (or shouldn't) take place is welcome to come along. Ric Cheadle Buckland Neighbourhood Planning Team   I'M sure that I can't be the only one becoming increasingly cynical with regards the council's entreaties for us all to be involved in the future of Tavistock. The last time this happened we ended up with the prospect of 750 Bovis homes (with limited provision for social housing) on a prominent hillside on the edge of a World Heritage Site! Such a decision ignores not just the topography of Tavistock but also the precepts of responsible town planning and the democratic process. While some of us will continue to add our 'two penneth worth', I wonder if anyone is really listening. Chris Miller Tavistock
