HISTORY will come alive this on Friday November 2 and what?s more there will be tea and cake. Broadwoodkelly Local History Group is launching a booklet and audio CD entitled ?A Village Hall in Devon.? Funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund, the booklet tells the story of the building?s life, as a village school until 1944 and the role it plays in the village today. Copies of the booklet will be available and there will be an exhibition of photos and other memorabilia relating to the village. This will coincide with celebrations for the hall?s recent refurbishment. It will be open from 3pm to 8pm with teas and a finger buffet available. There will be a special cake to celebrate the official opening at 6pm. Pete and Pat Wright said: ?All are welcome to come and admire our new-look hall and to enjoy looking back at its history.?
