CHILDREN from Okehampton School weighed up their healthy options on Friday when they visited the town's Waitrose supermarket.
Fran Rickwood, the school's eco-coordinator, said: 'We are looking to encourage the children to choose healthy options for their lunches at school. It is part of their "Food for Life" bronze award project.'
The classes from Years 4 and 5 were shown around the store by Waitrose staff to promote healthy eating in school as part of the company's Partner Volunteering programme and to support the nationwide Business in the Community 'Give and Gain' day.
The pupils enjoyed fun tastings of healthy food, a tour of the branch and focusing on fresh produce and quizzes about healthy eating.
