WITH reference to your article ?Locals are simply the best? of October 6, I would like to point out that contrary to what was stated in the second paragraph the Duke of York has not scooped Pub of the Year title in the New Good Beer Guide. This should have read Good Pub Guide. However, the Duke of York continues to be included in The Good Beer Guide published by CAMRA. The Taw River in Sticklepath was this year?s North Devon branch Pub of the Year. CAMRA commend the Duke of York and congratulate them on their continued success, whilst supporting many other pubs in the area who provide ?simply the best? real ale.
