THERE'S fun for all the family in Sampford Courtenay this Saturday, as the village holds its Millennium Celebration day.
Events start from 10am in the village square, the green and the hall.
There will be a treasure hunt around the village between 11am and 3pm with various stalls set up in the square.
These include a pig roast, licensed bar, an Art 2000 exhibition and morning coffee and afternoon teas.
The village green is the venue for skittles, sports and games to suit all ages — with the added incentive of some cash prizes!
There will also be a presentation of millennium mugs to all children aged 16 and under from the parish.
For real ale lovers, there will be a festival of West Country beers at the New Inn between Saturday and Monday.
To round off the day, Walter Shortage and the Hosepipe Banned will be appearing in the village hall between 8pm and 11.45pm for a barn dance.
On Sunday, the Ockment Hash House Harriers will meet at the New Inn at 11am for a run.
Tickets for the barn dance are £5 to include supper — children under 14 go free. They are available by calling 01837 82285 and 851407 or on the door.
