THE roads closed and the crowds poured in to Tavistock's Goose Fair yesterday (Wednesday).
The fun fair was officially opened by the mayor of Tavistock, Cllr Anne Johnson, on Tuesday evening, as thousands of youngsters enjoyed a precious treat of free rides courtesy of fair operators Rowlands.
By first thing yesterday, the stallholders were set up in Bedford Square and Plymouth Road, and it wasn't long before shoppers could buy everything from daffodil bulbs to dog beds — enjoying a burger or two along the way.
