THE Rotary Club of Okehampton's annual Service of Remembrance was attended by young and old this year, filling every seat in St James' Church last Thursday.
The service, led by the Rev Phillip Wagstaff from Fairplace Methodist and United Reformed Church, was attended by the mayor and mayoress of Okehampton, Cllr Michael and Mary Morse.
The Rotarians present were led by acting president of the club, Mike Macklin.
Mr Wagstaff emphasised the 'deep and real importance' of remembrance today.
A number of young people from across the area also took an active role in the service.
The standard bearer was Ben Stephens from the Royal British Legion, and 14-year-old Okehampton College student Josh Quick played the Last Post.
Also in attendance were five pupils from Okehampton Primary School.
John Burgess from the Rotary Club, who organised the service, said he was 'moved and pleased' by the 'wonderful' attendance.
