Members of the Tavy Division joined other Devon Girlguiding members in a final centenary activity to plant 150 trees at Roadford Forest.
The event was followed by an enjoyable lunch at the visitors' centre, giving an opportunity to reflect on the many fun opportunities enjoyed throughout the centenary year.
In 2009 Girlguiding UK embarked on its Centenary project 'Changing the World', which involved 18 partner charities. Members across the UK raised almost £850,000 in support of Asthma UK, Help the Hospices, Save the Children, Water Aid, Railway Children and the WWF, to name a few.
The money also helped fund research into girl bullying, and helped education for 550 girls in Liberia and 2,000 girls in rural Africa.
The challenge was not only about raising money but also to raise public awareness of the work member charities carried out. Members learned to be deaf-friendly with the National Deaf Children's Society, launched campaigns to help Unicef highlight the impact of HIV/AIDS on children and planted 56,000 trees across the UK with the Woodland Trust.
Joint Division Commissioner Janet Piper said: 'The aim of the challenge was to show girls that making a difference to local and global issues is within their reach, I think we clearly achieved that.
'Locally, we played our part alongside divisions throughout the country, working on a momentous community action project which produced results to be proud of'.
