FOLLOWING 'Carols for the Community', that was held in the town hall recently, on behalf of the Salvation Army in Tavistock I should like to thank the mayor of Tavistock, others who took part and the people who attended.
The sum of £600 was raised for Children's Hospice South West. The work of the hospice is outstanding, providing much-valued, vital care for children with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families through very stressful times.
The Salvation Army is delighted to support this important facility and the dedicated staff.
I would also mention to manager of the town hall, Dave Evans, his assistant Julia and others for their co-opereration and assistance in preparing the hall. They couldn't have been more helpful or efficient and their efforts eased the load of those who were responsible for the event.
