IT is a pleasure for me, as Lions president, to thank all the people who made the 'Carnival Nine Days' such a success.

Without the help of the community and the myriad of organisations in the town and its environs it would have been impossible to put on an event of this size and complexity. This year, in addition to all the usual events we were able to add a 'Rock and Roll' evening in the town hall and  a fashion show at the school. 

The weather was generally kind to us and I am happy to say that because of this the programme went ahead as planned. Our treasurer is still counting the money collected during the carnival but early indications are that we have surpassed last year's figure.

This will enable us to help even more organisations in the area. On behalf of them and the Lions, once again our heart felt thanks.
