A TAVISTOCK policeman who completed a gruelling 24-hour stamina run and swim across Dartmoor to raise money for a children's charity has organised a party to say thank you to his supporters.

The party, to be held at a paddock in Meavy on Saturday, October 4, will be hosted by Steve Bradfield, a patrol sergeant based at Tavistock police station.

Steve has so far raised £1,085 for the NSPCC, a charity he admires through coming into contact with them in his work via Childline and the Witness Care Centres.

Headlining the party is the band 'Bloody Offal' — musicians who are all surgeons at Derriford Hospital and who all supported Steve on his run. There will also be a barbecue and bar.

Although supporters of the run will be there Steve has extended the invitation to the public. Entry costs £5 but is by ticket only — these are available by calling 0792 0094196.
