A TEENAGER from Whitchurch with dreams of going to Tanzania in July to volunteer in a maternity hospital has expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to her two charity events. India Hollinson, 17, organised a fundraiser raffle and jumble sale on April 5 and 6 and raised more than £650 — a good start to her pledge of raising £3,000 all by herself in order to go to Tanzania. She expressed thanks to all her friends for their support and the volunteers who worked tirelessly to load cars and transport all the jumble to the Guide Hall in time for the sale. She thanked the jumble donors, the cake makers, the raffle donors made up of local and international companies, such as Karen Gronow Jewellery and Elizabeth Arden, the people who bought raffle tickets and jumble, Tavistock Town Mayor Harry Smith who drew the raffle at The Cornish Arms, and the landlords of the Cornish Arms, and to anyone who has handed her money as a kind donation. Further information can be found and donations can still be made by going to India's facebook page Fundraising for India's volunteering trip to Africa.
