I'M sure that all those citizens of Crapstone, who urged Buckland Monachorum Parish Council to reconsider, would wish to join me in thanking the council for ignoring their views and enhancing Crapstone Green with a red telephone box.
We must be grateful to the council for this village 'amenity', positioned outside the village, on the edge of a busy and dangerous road, where there is no speed restriction, no parking, no footpath and where it may be of some occasional use to the odd passing motorist or tradesman who does not have a mobile.
However, the real 'star prize' must go to the council responsible for the muddy slalom between Grenofen and Whitchurch.
