ON behalf of the charity Pancreatic Cancer Action, I would like to thank Cllr Jeff Moody and the staff of Tavistock Town Hall for lighting up the town hall with purple lights on November 1 for the National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day. In addition, thank you to St Eustachius Church for all the support they gave to this day as well. Pancreatic Cancer has a three percent survival rate that has been unchanged for over 40 years, and less than one and a half percent of the overall cancer funding is spent on research into this cancer. Unless this changes Pancreatic Cancer will be one of the main cancer killers by 2020, so you can imagine how grateful we are that Tavistock was involved in raising awareness. Jean Keast Tavistock
