THE Tavistock and district branch of Guide Dogs would like to thank everyone who generously gave money during our annual flag day collections on Saturday April 28.

The total collected was £1,073.42. No expenses were deducted and all this money will be used to enable Guide Dogs to continue their valuable work.

ON behalf of the Royal Marines' Association, Tavistock, many thanks to the residents and visitors in Tavistock and Yelverton who contributed £1,474.19 on Saturday May 9. This has been the best so far.

You know your contributions are well received by our charities when you read in the papers of injuries to our service personnel.
