LOCAL businesses have been instrumental in helping Tavistock Cricket Club buy new kit this season.
Much of the funding was raised by the player's own efforts and the teams now play in brand new white kit with club colours and logo.
Additionally, money was raised to purchase track suits, with local businessman Andy Coad of The Terrace Restaurant, helping out.
Club chairman, Andy Jarman, said 'We are entirely indebted to the generosity of local businesses who support us throughout the season. Without the help of our major sponsor, Kaminski Property Rentals Ltd., we would have found it very difficult this season, especially in respect of our regular T20 tournaments for which we have been able to provide brand new coloured kit over the last two seasons.
'Andy Coad of the Terrace Restaurant has been a friend of the club for many years and is always generous, continuing to support our kit purchases again this year.
'In addition, many local sponsors will be supporting us in the forthcoming six-a-side tournament which is sponsored by Quinn's Menswear.
'We all appreciate that these are difficult times and the community spirit of everyone involved should be applauded.'
This season's six-a-side tournament takes place at The Ring this Sunday. It is open to all-comers and anyone wishing to enter should email [email protected]">[email protected]
