THE organisers of the Sourton Scramble would like to thank all its sponsors/marshalls/tea ladies and all those who entered the event on the October 31.
We are particularly pleased that over 30 Okehampton and Tavistock people entered the 1.5 miles fun run.
The main run of 6.5 miles was won in an incredible time of 40 minutes 3 seconds by Tavistock runner Jim Cole, with second place going to 17-year-old Tom Lawson, also a Tavistock runner.
Showing exceptional talent was the junior runner George Speak who came home third.
Tavistock and Okehampton running club runners showed great support for this annual event and performed consistently well.
The first lady home was Sue Walker from North Tawton and second lady was Sharon Daw from Callington, an East Cornwall Harrier.
Sport prizes were provided by local pubs for EX20 post code runners.
Next year's event will be Saturday, October 30, 2010 with a brand new course.
