WE often hear criticism of youngsters in the town up to no good, creating social problems, damaging property etc but I, as mayor and on behalf of Okehampton, wish to publicly congratulate the students and a couple of events I recently attended.
The first event was the Mayor?s Charity Evening held at the Octagon Centre where the students prepared the food and entertained the guests; a very satisfying occasion
The second was a Community Safety Convention connected with a neighbourhood watch scheme where several VIPs from the south west attended. Again the catering was undertaken by the students with true professionalism, their style, presentation and goodwill combined with good quality food was impressive ? thank you Okehampton College.
