THE day was Blustery and cold for three members of Tavistock Triathlon Club who took part in the Plymouth Standard distance Triathlon.

The event consisted of a 1.5km swim, then a hilly 42km bike course into a challenging 10.3km run. There were 250 competitors who started the sea swim from Mountbatten in very choppy water.

Tim Mitchell finished in 76th place in 2hrs 54mins 47secs, Dave Ruffell was 150th in 3.22.59 and Lindsay Hobbs 164th in 3.35.57. Chris Garner, also from TCC, travelled to take part in Marlborough Fast Twitch race which consisted of a 400m pool swim, 20mile bike course and 5m run. Chris finished in a superb time of 1.56.29.
