THE planning committee at Tavistock Town Council has supported plans for the construction of a bridge and footpath for Tavistock Tesco.

An application was submitted by Tesco Stores Ltd to West Devon Borough Council, for the creation of a pedestrian footpath link from Plymouth Road and a timber footbridge over a stream.

Although the planning committee has supported the application, the final decision lies with West Devon Borough Council.

Also submitted was a planning application by JD Wetherspoon PLC for the retrospective listed building application for fixing new external signs.

The planning committee referred this application to the conservation officer.
