Tidy Tavi’s tenth birthday barbecue celebrations have been rescheduled for this Saturday (October 9) after they were postponed last week due to the bad weather.

Litter picking went on regardless, however, last Saturday when a small group of eight appropriately clad stalwarts turned out at 10am in the pouring rain to scour the town centre for rubbish and litter.

One volunteer commented that ‘there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!’

The tenth birthday celebrations will take place at The Wharf at midday on Saturday.

To avoid a potential repetition of last week’s downpour, the event will take the form of an indoor buffet with drinks. A cover charge of £5 will apply.

Anyone who has been involved in the success of the group since its inception in 2011 is invited to come along. This includes volunteers past and present as well as anyone who has provided support of any kind.
