Tavistock 12 Kingsbridge 14 IT was not until the last move of the game that the outcome was decided. At this stage both Tavistock and Kingsbridge continued to have hopes of promotion, but with a length of the field movement which resulted in a try under the posts Kingsbridge snatched a victory in a pulsating match. Kingsbridge started strongly, opening up their account with a try from flyhalf Ben Glover, converted by Ben Sherring to give a seven-point lead. Tavistock clawed their way back into the game and, despite being put under severe pressure at the set scrum, were able to win sufficient good possession for them to test the Kingsbridge defence. From a period of concerted pressure Tavistock got on the scoreboard through a try from prop Tom Hurdwell when he was driven over the line by his forward colleagues in a driving maul. After the break Tavistock took the lead with a second try when second row Andy Hunt crashed over for the try. Fly half Josh Sutton converted to give the home side a five point cushion. The remainder of the game was an end to end affair with both sides having their chances and both defences coping admirably. For Tavistock Andrew Griffiths was a notable ball carrier among the forwards working tirelessly. In defence Duncan Law and flankers Matt Cole and Paul Greenhill were immense cutting down attack after attcack. Kingsbridge stole the game near the end when after winning a scrum ball against the head in the shadow of their own posts they moved the ball wide and Andrew Horton went over for John Rogers to convert to steal the victory which both sides felt they deserved. Tavistock?s next league game is away at Liskeard on Saturday April 23. Kick off 2:30pm.
