TAVISTOCK Golf Club ladies? section held their three ball better ball open competition on July 1.
The first two prizes went to Teignmouth ladies; 1, Jenny Robinson, Carole Jackson, Sheila Hawkings (Teignmouth), 73 points); 2. Diane Chubb, Gillian Hepburn, Pat Goodey (Teignmouth, 72), 3; Irene Moss, Elizabeth Buckingham, Elizabeth Britten (Bigbury 70c/b); 4, Barbara Berryman, Barbara Perriton, Jean James (Yelverton, 70); 5, Rosemary Cook, Lesley Moore, Sharon Williams (Tavistock, 70).

The Roland Bailey mixed greensomes competition was held on July 2 in the evening sunshine. The trophy was won by John and Jill Hill (38 points c/b); 2, Ken Kendall and Jan Walls (38); 3, Dave and Peggy Burge (37c/b).
On July 4 Tavistock ladies won both home and away. The league had a successful match against Torrington (away). They won five matches and halved two thanks to a great team effort.
The Sheelah Creasy team beat Ilfracombe at home five and a half games to one and a half, adding to their earlier success against Yelverton, four and a half games to two and a half on June 25.
