YOUNG traders and performers were offered another chance to showcase their creative products and talents when the Teenage Market returned to Tavistock on Saturday, October 20.

The event was held in the newly refurbished Butchers’ Hall, adjacent to the Pannier Market. Designed to offer young creatives the opportunity to showcase artwork, craft and homemade produce, and to provide a platform for young performers, the Teenage Market is all about supporting the next generation of market traders and bringing an influx of energy, vibrancy and diversity to towns across the UK.

All teenagers taking part had to source or make their own products and bring along their enthusiasm to sell their wares.

The concept of the ‘teenage market’ was born back in in 2012 when teenage brothers Tom and Joe Barratt decided there should be a specialist market specifically for the large population of young people in their hometown of Stockport. The idea took off, really capturing people’s imagination, and events can now be found throughout the country.
