FOOTBALLERS from across West Devon and East Cornwall are being invited to take part in the 2010 Chestnut Cup six a-side football tournament, taking place on Sunday, April 25 at Marjon College in Plymouth.

Last year, eight teams from across the region came together on the day to produce some exciting and competitive football.  Success in the group stages and then the knockout rounds saw medical engineers, Becton Dickinson eventually walk away with the trophy and a host of prizes.

'Football is a great way of engaging teams from across the region and through this competition younger men have been made aware of prostate cancer' said David Squires from the charity

The Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer is ten years old this year, so please help us celebrate by signing up to play in the Chestnut Cup 2010 and receive the accolade of being named the regions top 6-a-side team.

Students from Marjon College and Plymouth University helped organise the day which went as smooth as clockwork.

'Last year proved to be a great success and we are hoping to extend the number of teams this year to twelve, so make sure you register early' said David

Registration forms can be got from the Chestnut Appeal office in Derriford Hospital, call David on 01752 792736 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
