SEVEN Young Farmers clubs joined together on Saturday September 10 as they competed at the annual field day and ploughing match. Tavistock, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Ivybridge, Newton Abbot, Roborough and Totnes all came together at West Worthele Farm, near Ivybridge, to compete in classes ranging from handicraft through to livestock. The day was an excellent success with everyone entering into a record number of classes ? and the Tavistock team walking away with several trophies. Nick Edwards from Tavistock won the Champion Sheep Trophy and Dave Camp won the Boys Root Cup. The Tavistock Young Farmers Club, as a team, also managed to win the Fodder Class, Gate Making, the Rural Challenge Cup for the fourth successive year, It?s a Knockout and the annual Tug of War.
