A NEW multi-agency team has been convened by Dartmoor National Park Authority to help achieve the goals set out in the park's management plan.
The plan, published in December 2007, is guiding decisions affecting Dartmoor's future over the coming years. It is a plan for all who care about Dartmoor and contains actions that range from sustaining farming systems to tackling climate change.
The overall aim is to ensure that the National Park and its 'special' qualities are conserved and enhanced for the benefit of local people and visitors.
The plan provides a set of principles which partner organisations have signed up to and will guide their own work programmes.
Nigel Hoskin, chairman of DNPA, said: 'The new delivery board provides a mechanism to bring the key partners together. It spans the public, private, voluntary and community sectors. It will help foster partnership working, assess progress, seek to resolve difficulties and embrace new opportunities.'
The delivery board includes representatives from DNPA, Natural England, Environment Agency, Dartmoor Commoners' Council, Forestry Commission, English Heritage, West Devon Borough Council, Duchy of Cornwall, Ministry of Defence and Dartmoor Access Forum.
