LEWDOWN bounced back after cup defeat to keep the pressure on the top three with a professional performance to maintain their good run in the league to six games.
In the first half Lewdown started brightly creating numerous chances but were unable to convert them. Patience was needed and Lewdown got their reward from a Chris Harding corner and a powerful header from Jack Skuse to make it 1-0 and that's how it remained at half time.
Lewdown started the second half much like the first. They put St Miniver on the back foot and any attack was broken up by Lewdown's midfield or defence who ran the show and up front. Paul Perkins and Charlie Hughes were a handful for St Miniver and Lewdown got the crucial second goal they deserved scored by Charlie Hughes. He had come close shortly before with a screamer from 20 yards brillantly saved by St Miniver's keeper. Lewdown got their 3rd goal with a cheeky finish by Adrian Vernon. St Miniver scored a late consolation goal. An excellent team performance all round.
Man Of The Match Jack Skuse.
