TAVISTOCK Community Football Club ladies played their first tournament under their new name at Okehampton Community Recreation Associatioin five-a-side tournament last Sunday.

TCFC managed to field two teams — TCFC A and TCFC B.

Both teams managed to qualify into the quarter finals but unfortunately met each other in the next round.

TCFC A put TCFC B out with one goal scored by Robyn Hammond. The semi-finals were a tough team from Exeter City but a great shot by Donna Weeks saw them through into the final.

TCFC were up against Exeter's finest with girls previously from the Football Academy. TCFC held firm but a cracking goal from short range beat keeper Della Maloney. After some super saves from Maloney TCFC went down 2-0 but proudly picked up their runners up trophies.
