FROM the beginning of August members of Tavistock United Reformed Church will be welcoming the Rev Robert Weston as their new minister.

A service to celebrate the induction of Rev Weston has been arranged for 3pm on September 2 at which Rev Ruth Whitehead, the moderator of the South West URC Synod, will preside.

The congregation will pursue a questioning and challenging exploration of the Christian faith as well as hosting the local foodbank and operating the Lower Deck Cafe. The mayors of Tavistock and West Devon will be attending the service and all members of the community are invited to join the processions and meet the new minister. Refreshments will follow the service.

The church were pleased to be involved in many opportunities to open the premises to a wide variety of groups within the local community.

The Rev’s first service will be leading worship at the church on August 6.
