Stonehouse Sharks U15s 7 Tavistock RFC U15s 10 TAVISTOCK put up a tremendous performance to run out winners in a match where all 15 Tavistock players deserved the player of the match title. Sharks put early pressure on the Tavistock line but after a series of five metre scrums and penalties couldn't break through and Mark Friend and Dan Oner enabled Tavistock to clear to halfway where they gained a penalty which was kicked into touch inside the Sharks 22. From the resulting lineout, Tavistock pressure caused Sharks to fumble the ball over their own line where a chasing Josh Leeson dived on the loose ball for the first try. From the restart Sharks put on the pressure and Tavistock found it difficult to clear. Following a five metre scrum Sharks went over for a try that was converted. Tavistock hit straight back and after a five metre scrum, drives for the line by Tom Thursby and Joe Hair were held up. However, the ball was rapidly recycled and Sam Lindsey fed Dan Oner who outpaced the defence to score Tavistock's second try. For the remainder of the match Tavistock only occasionally broke out of their half but their defensive organisation and tackling, by all players, was superb and they held out to the final whistle for a well deserved victory.
