TAVISTOCK youngsters travelled to Ivybridge for the 2010 Devon U8s Festival last Sunday with 24 teams taking part.

Tavistock were in a group consisting of Ivybridge, Plymstock Albion Oaks, Okehampton and Devonport Services — all had proved tough opponents during the season.

However Tavistock stepped up to the challenge and came away with four wins under their belt.

ALTERNATING between  both close support and moving the ball wide allowed Tavistock to create room to pierce the Ivybridge defence with devastating effect.

Ivybridge were quick to reply with some piercing runs of their own, finding chinks in the Tavistock armour before the West Devon side closed ranks in defence.

Tavistock tries scored by: Louis Peake, Tom Gardener, Henry Varndell-Dawes (3) and Harry Richardson (2).

THE same fierce attacking play from Tavistock ran in another seven tries with Plymstock fighting hard to contain them. Some good solid  support play from Plymstock through the middle created chances for them only to be thwarted by Tavistocks defensive pressure.
