SUCCESS is in the air at Tavistock Golf Club with home teams having good wins in their matches.
The men continue their successful progress in the Palariat Memorial Trophy with the team having a resounding three and a half to one and a half win over Saunton Artisans. The next match is against Dainton Park at East Devon Golf Club in July.
The juniors also continued their successful run in the Devon Junior League when they won all their matches against Porthpean. Their next match against Wrangaton was postponed because of bad weather and will be re-scheduled for later in the summer.
In the annual Closed Course Trophy between Tavistock, Yelverton and Royal North Devon the Tavistock ladies achieved their first win since the competition was started in 2001 beating Yelverton by one point in a nail biting finish!
The DCLGA County bronze medal meeting was held at Tavistock and produced yet another Tavistock winner when Sally Timpson won the lower bronze division with 37 pts in windy and difficult conditions.
The ladies winning streak continued when, in one week they won their Still Cup, League and Creasey matches.
The ladies played their qualifying round for the Express Echo Foursomes in ideal conditions.
June Kendall and Sue Coles won with 38 pts, runners-up Maggie Hillam and Hilary Picton had 36 pts. June and Sue will represent the club in the final at Exeter Golf Club.
