Tavistock Seconds 37 Kingsbridge Seconds15 In fine conditions at Sandy Park, Tavistock started the game at a furious pace and completely dominated Kingsbridge for virtually the whole of the first half. The forwards were giving the Kingsbridge pack a torrid time in the set scrums and locks Darren Cole and Steve Long were winning all their own ball in the lineouts. After continuous pressure in the opposition half of the field, Josh Sutton opened the scoring for the home side after 10 minutes with a penalty. Shortly afterwards, a good move along the backs was well finished off by wing Colin Smerdon with Sutton converting.  On 25 minutes, another strong attack by Tavistock ended in Sutton scoring a try from close range. Two further tries were scored in the next ten minutes,- the first when Doug Lloyd made a sharp break through the Kingsbridge midfield and off- loaded to Charlie Harvey to claim the score. Straight from the kickoff, Matt Witcher stormed through the centre of the park for a fine individual try for Tavistock. Sutton again converted. Just before halftime, prop Brendan Chapple was sent to the sin bin for a technical offence and right on half time, in a rare excursion into the Tavistock half of the field, Kingsbridge scored an unconverted try to leave the half time score 27 - 5 to Tavistock. The second half was a bit of an anticlimax after the first half performance.  Play was scrappy for much of the time but both sides managed to score two tries. For Tavistock, Dave Goodspeed with an opportunist effort and a second for Colin Smerdon at the end of a sustained handling move involving the backs and forwards.  The game ended with Tavistock running out comfortable winners.
