Amongst the guests were Cllr Mandy Ewings, the deputy mayor of Tavistock, and Daphne Jago, the area president of Devon and Cornwall NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arranging Societies).
Also invited were members of neighbouring clubs, from Derriford, the Tamar Valley and Saltash.
During her welcoming address the chairman, Lowenna Edwards, touched briefly on the founding of Tavistock Flower Club by Winnie Bond and Iris Webb, in 1961.
Prior to the meal the guest speaker, Pam Colwill, gave a very interesting talk on her work as a prison chaplin.
The afternoon concluded with the cutting of a delicious cake kindly made by Millicent Wallworth, followed by the presentation of competition cup winners. Daphne Jago presented the annual trophies to Jenny Walker, Julia Dawson and Doreen Draper. There was a special mention and presentation to two long serving committee members, Ros Jefferies and Christine Jeffery.
