TWO young people from Tavistock were presented with their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award at Buckingham Palace last month.

Benjamin Cullen and Annabelle Longden did their exhibition with West Devon Explorer Scouts under Ian Meneer’s guidance. They completed the expedition in particularly hazardous weather conditions in the Peak District and kept going while other teams were being airlifted to safety.

Benjamin completed his award while at university in Southampton and Annabelle finished hers at Bristol University.

On the day Benjamin and Annabelle were lucky enough to meet Princess Anne and Prince Edward.
