AS part of Tavistock College’s re-invigoration of the house system a Founders Day service is being held at St Eustachius’ Church on July 12 at 2pm.

Organisers of the event have invited all former staff and students. Members of the Reunion Society will be there and we will be revisiting the long history of the college, looking back a thousand years to the foundation of the school and celebrating the achievements of some of the great men of Tavistock — Bedford, Drake, Fitz, Glanville and Tremayne — whose names are commemorated in the college’s five houses.

They will also be looking to the future of the college as part of the wider community of Tavistock in the 21st century, where students raise money and volunteer for local charities and play an important part in the life of the town.
