CADETS at 2312 (Tavistock) Squadron Air Cadets were treated to a visit by Sgt Ian Grimshaw from the RAF careers team based in Plymouth on May 17.

The cadets took part in a problem solving logistical exercise which gave them an insight into the many and varied roles of the RAF personnel and aircraft.

Sgt Grimshaw also gave cadets advice on the application process and the qualities the recruiters are looking for in those who wish to join the RAF.

Sgt Grimshaw then presented 18 cadets with their classification certificates. Unit CO Sqn Ldr John Olver said: ‘This is one of the best years we have had for exam results .In total four cadets have gained their Master Cadet Award and BTEC in Aviation Studies, seven have qualified as senior cadets and 17 as leading cadets. It is a real tribute to the work of our volunteer civilian instructors.’
